Dedicated to the exhibition and conservation of the most outstanding locally produced artwork, The Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico showcases the core and essence of the Island’s creative and vibrant culture. The Museum’s rotating exhibits and permanent works showcase the remarkable accomplishments of Puerto Rican artists. Puerto Rican artistic community, with the past and the present equally celebrated.

The Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico (MAPR) provides different guided tours. Visitors can pick the type of tour that will guarantee maximum enjoyment during their time at the Museum. Visitors can also participate in any tour scheduled on weekends without having to make an appointment. The MAPR has a staff of interpreters and docents specially trained to give the best experience for every person, no matter their age.

With a staggering 18 exhibit halls, this highly acclaimed art museum in San Juan’s Santurce neighborhood can keep you entertained for long hours.

It was designed in line with modern museum design’s most exact and contemporary standards and comprises 130,000 square meters of contemporary areas. 

The Museo is home to 24 exhibition galleries located between the historic building in the west wing and the extension to the east wing.
